Practice is a key part of growing as an athlete and we want to guarantee that our athletes can maximize their practice time so that they are able to continue to develop their tennis skill set. Unfortunately, the sport of tennis is easily effected by inclement weather. With the smallest amount of rain our courts can become very slick, and are then an unsafe playing surface. The one squeegee that we have has seen it's fair share of use and is no longer able to properly clear the courts after a rain storm. Unfortunately this can lead to a lot of missed practice time and can also negatively affect our matches. If we could fund this project and get two new squeegees we would be able to properly clean the courts and make them a safe playing surface for our athletes.
New court squeegees would allow our athletes more practice time on the courts, and would make it easier to hold or resume tennis matches after a rain storm.
We are also looking to get one more ball hopper. Ball hoppers are standing baskets that hold tennis balls. With an appropriate amount of ball hoppers we would be able to effectively distribute our practice tennis balls among our athletes allowing for smaller groups of athletes working together to strengthen their tennis abilities.
