It is a year of new beginnings. I taught at the younger grade levels for many years and have taken a new position for the Fall. For my students and for myself, we will be starting at a new to the school and 6th grade together. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my career and hope to make it a fun and exciting year for my students as well. My core subjects will be Science, Math, and Reading. I believe my experience in the younger grade levels is the reason for my wish list here on Ðǿմ«Ã½. I would like to have the resources to give my students a chance to explore science in a fun and hands on way and not just reading what is in their text book.
Over the years I have visited different Children's Museums and Science Centers and would love to bring hands-on learning into my classroom. Imagine the classroom set up in stations that students can independently explore while being engaged in their learning. These items in my wish list including a rock, fossil, and mineral collection, Earth and Astronomy activity kits, and STEM activities will give my students that hands on learning opportunity.
