The materials chosen for our D.R.E.A.M. program will help my students to flourish in their daily living skills and all academic areas. It is extremely important to me that they are provided with materials to help enhance their learning in and out of the classroom. Learning should be a fun and rewarding process!
My goal is to help all of my students to become successful in ways they have never experienced. I plan to teach students to develop responsibility, independent living skills, and employment attributes through the use of these particular materials. This school year we will be opening a school store in which my students will have the opportunity to work daily. I have requested a Casio Cash Register in order for the students to work on money skills which they will need throughout their life. They will also have the opportunity to work on their communication skills when working at the store and interacting with others in our building. I have also requested many social skill games to help reinforce appropriate communication. Some of the games included are: Cooperative Board Game Set, Friends & Neighbors (The Helping Game), and The Grocery Store Game.
Many of my students are extremely gifted in the area of art and construction. I have requested art materials as well as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) materials in order to enhance their strengths in the areas of Math and Science each day. Through the use of Lego Brick Sets and Keva Brain Builders, the students will have the experience of being an engineer!
Please consider helping the D.R.E.A.M. program in order to ensure our students have the most enriching educational journey this school year and years to come!
