I teach a generation of students who are constantly using touch screen technology at home and on the go. Kindergarten students are very active and mobile and tend to lose interest when tied down to a computer. I want to be able to use tablets during our Daily 5 Centers to allow them to get comfortable at flexible seating around the room and listen to stories, practice sight words, create their own stories, and fully engage in literacy and math. I teach at rural public school and feel like this would make the desire to read more relevant for each of my students.
