Flexible seating provides students with the opportunity to choose the seat that will help them to learn the best. They may move from table to table or area to area throughout the day. Since our classroom consists of tables arranged throughout the room, students lack a place to keep the materials they are currently using. They find that their materials (pencil boxes, notebooks, slates, textbooks, etc.) get in each other's way. That can be oh so distracting!
Seat sacks would provide students with a place to store the materials for the subject with which they are currently involved in while also giving the students an uncluttered work area.
Most times students end up stacking their materials on the table but inevitably it topples onto one another. They have found this to be frustrating. Seat sacks would be a simple solution to help these students focus on learning rather than on the clutter.
