Reading is a precious gift. My classroom library is my students' favorite place to attend to in the classroom. My students do not have access to books at home, therefore our classroom library is so important to them. Students go there to enjoy quality books that will open their minds to new possibilities, broaden their imaginations and to experience the world through other's lives. I believe these paperback books will enhance the books I have so far in my library. My students will benefit from learning about children from other parts of the world, develop a positive mindset, and enjoy classic books to read during independent reading. Furthermore, students that are struggling readers will benefit from the emergent readers that will aid them in building fluency and allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
My students love to read and I can see their excitement when they read independently or with a friend. These books will provide my students a chance to explore a variety of books that interest them and expand their imagination. In addition, my students will grow stronger in reading due to an expanded classroom library. I know that this project will not only strengthen my students' learning but also create a passion for reading that will last a lifetime.
