These materials will make a difference because my students will get to experience the full text rather than little excerpts of it.
This will allow for them to fully comprehend the plot and complex ideas/themes of the text.
By doing this we can bridge classroom concepts to the real world, 21st-century skills that go beyond the classroom setting. These books will allow them to discuss topics going on in today’s society like stereotyping and racism in a safe, comfortable environment. This allows for them to be open about their thinking and processing of these difficult topics/themes instead of working through them outside the classroom.
