With the school year just around the corner, my students will use these flexible seating options at all hours of our day together. The students’ time in small groups and whole class instruction will both be benefited by flexible seating. Fifth graders are an active group of students who need options in their learning environments and flexible seating is yet another option. With these exciting wobble chairs, cushions, and a balance ball, they will be able to better concentrate on their unique goals as learners by making the choice in where to learn. These materials will make a difference in the students’ learning by encouraging movement, providing choice, and establishing responsibility. With these seat options, the students will grow as learners, friends, and community members.
