Our students are in need of high-interest, culturally relevant reading materials that will motivate the most reluctant readers. Each issue contains thrilling nonfiction, paired texts, read-aloud plays, short fiction poetry, debates, and short informational texts. Storyworks will provide support materials to increase reading comprehension, vocabulary development, reading fluency and stamina, and writing skills across a variety of genres. A subscription to this magazine would also provide differentiation tools needed to meet the unique needs of every learner. By increasing motivation, reinforcing skills, and encouraging students to become active participants in their reading development, Storyworks Jr. can help close the achievement gap for our students.
