Today's students are expected to learn so much so fast. They sit at their desks, listen, and work hard all day long. In the first grade, students learn how to read, write, and solve problems. I want to enable them a classroom environment in which they feel comfortable to excel at all their tasks. All students learn differently so it is unfair of us to ask them to all sit at the same desks. In the past I have allowed my students to sit around the room with clipboards so that they may sit somewhere they are comfortable. The floor, unfortunately, is only so comfortable. Students end up off task or moving around the room. This project will increase comfort and productivity with my students. There are floor desks, cushions, seats, yoga balls, and fidget bands for traditional desks. I have tried to create an environment in which each child can find comfort. It is my hope that this added comfort will increase student success.
