My students are learning how to play with each other respectfully and interactively but have very few toys to play with. They like to talk about what they are playing with but are stuck with broken toys, puzzles with missing pieces, and mismatched lego and block sets.
With new toys such as car sets, community helper Legos, board games, and sensory dough, they will become better at sharing, communicating, taking turns, and developing necessary social skills while having fun! Games such as "Guess Who" will help the students develop their language skills by asking and answering questions about a person. "Chutes and Ladders," "Hi Ho Cherry-O," and "Candy Land" will teach them valuable turn-taking skills. Legos, blocks, and sensory dough will develop their creativity and teach them to share. Various puzzles will help them work as a team to solve a problem, take turns, and develop their critical thinking skills.
I'm excited to see their social skills develop after receiving adequate resources! They will use these toys and games on Fun Fridays and during indoor recess.
