I am honored to teach 14-20-year-old young adults with a variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments in our high school's self contained class. My students are focusing their time in school on preparing for life after high school; that looks different for every student. We work with each student individually to help them communicate what their personal goals and visions for their futures are.
My students are looking forward to being as independent as possible after high school.
Most of my students participate in jobs in the classroom or around our school building as part of their education. We also practice interviewing skills, job applications, cooking, cleaning, money, time, and functional writing skills. As well as having a "normal" high school classroom setting, as possible!
Thank you in helping my student LEARN TO LOVE TO READ!
