The art supplies requested for this project will enable us to begin a club that will create various forms or visual arts projects that can hopefully compete at the state level. We do not have an art program at Early College, so we are starting from scratch. Many of our students are low-income and cannot afford the supplies needed to compete, but certainly have the talent. The paint, canvases, colored pencils, and sketch pads will bring so much more to light than visual art, they will help illuminate the beauty of critical thinking these students are not only capable of, but crave.
