The items on the project list will lead to helping gather items needed to support the state standards for visual art appreciation, including sample artwork for analysis and materials for creating their own artwork.
The graphite pencils are for drawing and sketching. The watercolors, acrylic paints, and associated paint brushes will support the standard that states that Art making is a complex cognitive process. It can involve developing an idea, visually describing a real world experience, expressing an emotional state, or illustrating a intuitive feeling. Creating visual art will help students learn to express themselves more confidently at a deeper level of aesthetic reflection and greater sense of craftsmanship.
We are a Title I school, hence the absence of art for the past 15 years, as budget cuts removed Art as an elective. We have nothing at the moment except willingness to learn and teach! Thank you for considering our school!
