Over half my students are from impoverished homes with limited access to learning games. These math manipulatives will help students play learning games during math groups. Many of my students are still learning how to take turns and communicate with each other while playing a game.
I will use engaging math manipulatives to help my students move from a concrete, to semi concrete, and finally towards an abstract understanding of math. The number balance will show children how to make and balance equations. The 120 pocket chart makes number sense which is a very abstract idea, accessible to children that learn by moving objects or solving puzzles. The magnetic ten frame helps students visualize all the equations that equal ten.
