I teach in a low income k-8 grade school. We are blessed with wonderful students, but unfortunately not so blessed when it comes to funding. This year I have 23 students in a 3rd and 4th grade combined classroom. I am searching for a way to create a reading environment where students are not only actively engaged reading to stories, but also actively listening to stories. I have watched so often students' eyes come alive when listening to a story. My goal is to create an inviting environment that reaches a variety of learners regardless of their reading level.
