We are so fortunate to have large tables and cubbies, however students have lots of materials that may not truly fit in the cubby. With each child having a chair pocket for their own materials, they can easily access what they need. Desks are a thing of the past but were helpful with storage. Keeping 24 second graders organized is quite a task; simply having a place for notebooks and more makes a big difference. When students can quickly get what they need, learning continually flows. It can be disruptive and time consuming to go back and forth for materials.
