I begin each class with students gathered on the floor in the front of the room where we greet each other, review from last week, discuss and demonstrate our new lesson, and set the tone for a creative day. Students are currently sitting on worn carpet remnants that have seen better days. They are frayed and stained from years of use. They can also be a challenge to distribute and clean up and many students find it difficult to stay in one place on their carpet during our discussions. A large carpet with individual spaces marked for students to sit on would eliminate the chaos that comes with the remnants. This amazing, colorful design inspired by the artist Kandinsky would be the perfect addition to our art room!
