Each child is unique and while one student may work perfectly well in a traditional classroom learning environment, another student may struggle with staying focused while seated in conventional chairs. Research shows that when people are given some control over their environment, it contributes to their sense of well-being; similarly, when students are given a choice of spaces within their classroom where they may work, they feel both physically and emotionally secure, which helps them be productive and motivated and stay focused.
A flexible learning environment empowers students to make choices about how and where they sit while working or collaborating with classmates, among other things. This project will fund the following unique seating options:
-5 colorful, kid-size stools. These portable stools are lightweight and are easy for kids to move around the classroom and stack for storage when needed. They have cleanable, cushioned seats and are super easy to keep clean.
-6 colorful, balance ball seats. These are ideal for active kids. 4 of these balance balls have 5 soft stabilizing legs, assuring the ball stays in place when not in use, and 2 of them are peanut-shaped for stability. These balance balls can help improve kids' focus and concentration at school and also promote healthy posture!
- 7 floor seating options: 5 pillows/cushions and 2 inflatable wobble seats.
-2 standing wobble boards for students who need to move and prefer to work standing up at a high table or counter.
