I have chosen to continue to integrate flexible seating in to my classroom. I have used it the last few years and they love not having to sit in a normal, straight-back plastic chair all day long. I have used stability balls - to bounce, kick bands- to wiggle and kick, and a standing table- for non-sitters. All of these increase oxygen to the brain, blood flow, and core strength, which helps them be ready to learn.
My students are asking for swivel stools too! My students have been able to identify what helps them learn best. The stools will help any students at the standing table, who may need a rest. They may also be used at the student desks for those that need to spin and twirl from side to side.
