With these supplies, I intend to create at least 20 different learning centers, all with hands-on manipulatives that allow the students to really grasp the concepts we are learning in math.
Students will build number sense and social skills as they work and play together to play the games and activities in these centers. The dice allow them to roll and find the sums and differences with numbers up to 1000. The Rekenreks allow them to manipulate the numbers within 20. The Triangles allow them to recognize how numbers create fact families with sums and differences that are related. The counters and spinners are used for student generated problems that they work together to solve. The dominoes allow students to find doubles and near doubles facts, and use them to solve additional math problems and play games. Lastly, the cardstock, clear pockets and storage containers allow me to create and store the materials in an efficient manner, lending to better use of the supplies.
