In a diverse classroom where equity is far most important, small group settings help to create an atmosphere where learning can take place. Students are able to thrive in a safe and confident environment. Learners perform well when the stakes are at low risk and they are comfortable in their environment.
My students are highly engaged learners, the supplies chosen will allow them to learn in the least restrictive environment. With the headphones, students will be able to utilize their headphones when need. This will allow the noise level from the devices to decrease in class. The reduction of noise will allow learners better focus and distractions will be minimal.
By donating to my project it will increase students learning. Students will be able to use the headphones in small groups settings. This includes math time and reading time. Other items are chosen such as the Phonics FlashCards, Phonic Digraphs, and reading materials. These items will be used to reach struggling learners and help grow readers.
Other items chosen will help increase book supplies in the classroom. Students will be introduced to new books, thematic units, and author studies. I often quote to my students, "Practice makes perfect to become a better reader" and my students reply back, "The more we read, the more we become better readers." After receiving these items, my students will have the opportunity to better experience and understand the statement we quote in class daily.
