My classroom community is without a doubt one based on love, respect, creativity, and kindness. My students have the most brilliant minds and the biggest hearts, however, they are movers and shakers. My room is filled with students of many different profiles but the one across the board is that of attention and sensory issues. The biggest option my students have for seating right now is our regular seats at tables or on the floor. I know if my students had alternative ways of sitting to get their work done they would be able to stay on task and pay attention better while getting different types of sensory input they so crave. The stability balls will be a great option at their desks or the teacher table for guided reading, the stools are great for strengthening their cores and the bean bags give comfort and sensory input as a place to curl up with a good book or to calm bodies that are starting to escalate! These children are ready to make a difference in the world, and they just need a little help to focus on their goals!
