With these chair pockets, my students will have access to materials for the music lesson as they will readily be available without wasting valuable instructional time by passing materials out. Materials used may range from music notation for songs we are learning in a program to worksheets that can help students understand and practice the concepts and skills being learned in the lesson. For my primary students I typically do a music appreciation lesson where students are asked to draw a picture of what sound they hear when listening to a classical piece by Mozart, for example, thus needing crayons and scratch paper to engage in their creative processes.
