With the Nikon D34OO DSLR Camera, amazing photos and moments in time can be captured with stunning simplicity. It is often said that picture is worth a thousand words, and with the camera as a classroom tool, thousands of words can comprise a single story. "Picture This: Poetry in Motion," is a project idea that I have for the upcoming school year. "Picture This" will be an opportunity for students to explore the creative process through a lens, and to use the project as a tool in focusing on career paths for the future. It will be a way to capture elements such as movement and composition, with musical elements in the background to give way to instinct and feeling while various actions are captured. Students will be able to explore lighting, balance, and apply those concepts into pictures on canvas, paper and other surfaces. With collaboration of the drama and music department, I would like to capture both the spirit and culture of the school, and compose all photos in a rhythmic way that showcases the talents and excellence of the student body in a schoolwide exhibition. Many times I find that the learning curve and gap in student achievement is the access to certain resources and materials. With the Nikon D3400, students will be able to take their knowledge of photographic art to new heights and give them the confidence to picture the world and their environment in an entirely unique way.
