My students want to develop a joy for reading. Right now my library is not very inviting and books are limited. My students truly enjoy independent reading. So with cool new seating and more interesting books, my students will flock to the library and take more of an independent interest in reading. I would also be able to make my lessons more engaging when I use titles from the library to teach skills and concepts in reading and writing. This in turn will expose my students to more complex texts and higher order thinking. My students will learn they can explore the world through texts and become better critical thinkers. Also my students will continue to progress towards becoming lifelong leaders and readers.
