Currently, we do not have a carpet to create a defined space in our literacy area. We also do not have shelves that would allow for easier access to materials to support motor and social-emotional learning. My students need accessible, defined, and comfortable spaces in the classroom to help them learn.
The shelves and carpet in this project can create a space in the class that is engaging, comfortable, and fun. With the shelves, my students will have easier access to manipulatives, blocks, and pretend play items that can support their fine motor and social skills. With the carpet, it will be used in our literacy corner. It can define space and provide warmth and comfort as my students explore and engage in books.
