These materials will allow us to provide a comfortable and calming place for students to regulate and decompress. It allows us the opportunity to create an atmosphere for lunch times for students that have difficulty with crowds. We will also be providing mental health related small groups. With a focus on mental health and teaching coping skills strategies, our students can then focus on their learning. Many of our students would benefit from a home away from home. The bean bags, cushions, and chairs that I am asking for will help create a comfortable and flexible place for our students to begin their regulation process. The goal of this room would be to act as a school wide intervention. A room that all students have access to when they need it.
