My students need this simple machine set to explore and measure the force of each simple machine. Students need hands-on experience with several machines such as the lever, pulley, wedge, wheel and axle, and the inclined plane. Students will be able to work with each machine and examine the differences forces that are applied to each machine.
Students will experience how each machine created opportunities to use less force and make jobs simple. Studying simple machines is an excellent introduction to STEM careers many of my students will be interested in after high school. Students will understand how vital Science is to their lives.
