My students have days that are jam-packed with learning and laughter. We provide breakfast, lunch, a rigorous curriculum, lots of play time, and, very importantly, nap time. Children in this age group are often exhausted by the afternoon, and most fall right asleep once the lights are dimmed and quiet music is played. With such a busy day full of learning and play, rest time is essential for providing our young learners with time to recharge their bodies and minds. Currently, I have cots in my classroom for nap time. These cots are extremely worn out, and do not provide any cushioned rest space for our students. Many are sagging and breaking. Additionally, they are bulky, and take up a lot of valuable classroom space. The foam mats I am requesting are easier to clean, more comfortable, and can be folded to fit in student lockers, freeing up more room to play in the classroom. Any amount is greatly appreciated to create a restful place for my students to nap!
