My students prefer to work via white boards and we go through markers very quickly. This method brings learning to life as it enables and encourages student discussion, class conversations, rigor and competition, and more variety than paper/pencil. Our favorite use for dry erase markers and white boards are rapid whiteboard exchange for fluency concepts. My students love to rise to a challenge and some competition! The donation of markers would ease the strain on our families as they are fairly expensive. I find myself replacing 3 dozen markers per month at a minimum and it's a tough expense for me to cover on my own on a teacher salary.
