My students are often anxious about various events in their lives and this will help develop their skills to relax and develop a calm attitude in the face of adversity they face on a daily basis. The items selected will help reduce anxiety and promote self-care, resilience, and gratitude in their lives. My students will be able to journal their emotions and write about their experiences. Students will be able to fill their lives with gratitude by reading books that promote this growth mindset. Students will be able to practice meditation and be present to their lives and events occurring in the world.
The following materials will allow for our classroom to transform into a space that intentionally promotes self-care and mindfulness for all students. Through the daily practice of meditation, my students will be able to follow through on their personal and academic goals. My students will become more present and able to focus on targetting different areas of their life. My students will be able to better support one another and build a stronger classroom community through their bond of self-care and intentionality.
All the materials selected will promote an equitable learning environment for students who would have otherwise not had access to these various methods of self-care. Help my students develop these long-lasting skills that will push their growth and allow for successful personal and academic outcomes.
