By providing stamps to my students, it enables them to each write one letter per week throughout the year. They research different places such as museums, historical landmarks, colleges, and national parks to write to. In the letter that they write, they ask for a postcard in return. My students learn about all of the wonderful features of the United States by writing letters. The places that my students write to end up sending so much information that my students are excited to learn about these places that they normally would not know about. My students gain so much from this project. They practice their writing skills, learn about our wonderful country, and gain human interactions with the people they write to.
