There has been a lot of research shown on how flexible seating in the classroom benefits students. I have seen in previous classrooms how the students are able to focus and are much more engaged in learning, because they are comfortable. As a second year teacher, my goal is for my students to be engaged in learning so they can make amazing academic gains.
Movement is a great tool for student engagement, so providing them with opportunities to move even while sitting means students will be more engaged than ever. Providing them with spaces to sit comfortably will allow them to be more focused on their learning, rather than thinking about how uncomfortable they are.
