Reading is important to develop language skills in children. Teaching children how to read not only enhances their language skills but their social skills as well. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. Children learn to develop stronger focus, increased intelligence, creativity and more awareness of the world around them when they read books. Children’s books helps expand their vocabulary at the early stages of language development. They teach basic words to the child and helps them gain a grasp on the common sounds of the language, and help show them how to use these words in new ways. This is important to acknowledge because learning how to play with language will make them better communicators.
