In my broadcasting class, students are charged with creating a variety of projects based on film production. They will learn about camera equipment/techniques, interview skills, lighting, sound, editing, producing and "run & gun" filmmaking. Many times, these projects serve our school and community by promoting a positive message. With the camera, lav mic, tripod, SD Card and SD Card reader we will be able to engage more students on a personal level, permitting them to take an active/participative role in the process. Through this course, we have ignited the interest of several students who plan to pursue the field in some capacity as they enter college and the workforce. Our ultimate goal is to provide students with an experience, at the high school level, that will enable them to make informed decisions about their future.
