Easels have many uses. For our new big books through a new reading curriculum, I will be using these almost daily. The easel has a wonderful railing that will allow me to present these books in the most effective way. The white boards will be mobile. This allows me to work with whole group and small groups throughout the day no matter where we are in the room. One side has lines in order to show students how to properly write on paper. The magnetic aspect continues to extend my range of use in the classroom. Instructional functionality is only the beginning. Students can use this during centers. Word Work is a major task in 1st grade. It keeps them engaged while allowing them to practice critical skills!
Picture a group of students, completely engaged while having the ability to get involved and participate! This is exactly what this easel will allow us to do in my classroom. While I will be using it for instruction, it is the center of many activities. Morning meetings are needed to start a successful day. In these meetings, many things will be taking place. Students will get the important announcements, but I will mainly focus on Social Emotional Learning. This will help shape them into better citizens. Math and reading have taken a turn in instructional approaches that have proven to help those that need it most. With small groups, we are focusing on particular skills or concepts that may be lacking for a specific group of students. It helps them in areas they need while allowing others to continue learning as well. Those that need a challenge finally get there chance to show what they really know. That is our goal in school! Help us reach our goals!
