These wonderful children's literature books will enhance our classroom library and help teach main ideas, themes, author studies, sequencing, setting, mood, organization, voice, small moments, word choice, fluency, conventions, morals, reflections, and figurative language. Through hilarious books like Potato Chip Champ and Walter the Farting Dog reluctant readers are captivated by the silly language. It pulls them in! Books are a perfect vehicle for creating lifelong readers and writers! These books will be used in our classroom EVERYDAY in reading and writing workshop. We use books for read alouds, mini lessons, shared reading, author studies, book clubs, independent reading and literature circles. The best readers are children who READ! READ! READ! Reading books increases vocabulary, fluency, conventions and comprehension. Reading rocks!
