Currently, students in my computer science class have the opportunity to learn skills such as coding and programming. However, they are limited as to the projects they can create and the variety of tasks they can apply their skills to. Through the use of the MakerBot 3D printer and the Makey Makeys, students will be able to apply their basic knowledge to a deeper level. Being able to get the MakerBot 3D printer and Makey Makey will allow my students to take their learning to the next level. This will also give them more hands-on activities to be able to work with. Additionally, it will increase their problem-solving skills, creativity, and overall understanding of the concepts being taught in the class. These items will also be used in a computer science club after school. Currently, students have access to computers, as well as a drone that requires coding to be able to fly. These two items will allow me to set up additional stations and activities for my students to work with.
