My students will use Chromebooks to read books online and access software and programs that provide reading intervention. My students will use the computers to type their work, practicing their computer and word processing literacy, as well as expressing themselves through the written word. My students will use computers to edit their own work and the work of their peers. My students will use computers to learn in a manner that benefits them in this twenty first century universe, and allows them to access technology that they often cannot access at home or throughout the rest of the school. They will also be able to create slideshows for oral presentations, and access online research for non-fiction writing. I believe that every child should have the right to access technology, so thank you for considering donating to this project!
Access to these computers would transform my curriculum, my teaching and my students' lives.
I would be able to individualize and innovate my writing program so that I can meet each child's individual need and monitor their work in real time. Sharing and collaborating work via Google classroom and Google slides would add to the collaborative writing practices I am working to build in my classroom.
