This year I will be teaching a Forensic Science course with a particular need for academically differentiated curriculum. To that end, I would like my students to read the book Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. This non-fiction text combines science and humor to explore one of the more uncomfortable subjects presented in the class.
The modular nature of the book lends itself readily to incorporating single chapters into a larger curriculum unit by unit without the need to go in sequence. This fits perfectly for a new course that we are still putting together in our first year.
