A personal classroom library will immensely benefit my students. With only 52 minutes per class period for instructional time, it is not always easy to make a trip down to the school library during class. If I have an extensive classroom library, my students will have more young adult novels available to them. By making a personal library a central part of my classroom, my students recognize the high importance I place on reading regularly.
From culturally diverse novels like, "The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian" and "Kira-Kira," to classics like, "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Catcher in the Rye," my students will have a wide selection of books to choose from as they set independent reading goals for the year. These titles will make a huge difference to my students and give them a huge range of novels to fall in love with this school year.
