These Kindle Fires will provide our class with engaging learning centers during both reading and math. Last year, sixty percent of my students did not have access to tablets or computers at home. Knowing this, I know that it puts our students at a great disadvantage. Our class will be able to utilize these tablets to access preloaded learning games. Each preloaded game will be focused on core 2nd grade standards. The use of technology will grab students attention and provide, much needed, 21st-century technology skills to students. The games, which will be preloaded, will allow the user, or student, to receive immediate feedback that is tailored to his/her error. Thus aiding us in closing reading, math, and 21st-century learning gaps. This year I will also be serving 3 students whom are ESOL, and the visual aids that accompany many online games are extremely helpful in making connections.
