Allowing students choice while picking a working spot in their classroom not only provides them with a sense of empowerment but also has many benefits. Increased engagement and motivation, improved behavior, more collaboration, higher academic performance, increased oxygen flow to the brain, and increased metabolism are just a few of these benefits! This project will allow students ownership over their learning which will also drive their motivation. My students will not only benefit academically from alternative seating, but they will learn the importance of collaboration and teamwork My students will use the bean bags, stability balls, stability disks, wobble stools, and ball chair every single day. They will be able to choose these items as their work space and change it up whenever they feel fit. The students will use teamwork to create a system that allows them to share these items. This will benefit their relationships and allow them to collaborate together. I am excited to give the students in my classroom different ways to work and learn in a positive and comfortable environment.
