We are facing new and uncertain times in education. These products will help me provide the safest environment while providing creative and engaged lessons. Students, and parents, can feel safer when we are able to use social distancing in the classroom, as well as use protective barriers for each child. Small group instruction will be a challenge. Protective barriers will make it possible to meet with a couple students at a time. The mobile easel will also allow me to bring individual instruction to students to enhance their learning.
Challenges and uncertainty doesn't mean education can't happen safely and creatively in the classroom. Thinking about teaching with strict health safety guidelines is much different than the focus on groups and collaboration of the resent past. I want to keep students safe and use individual supplies while finding ways to keep a collaborative environment. Individual markers and dry erase boards will allow students to use their own supplies and give visual responses to me and other students (still keeping a group feel while social distancing). And LEGOs... imagine students receiving their own individual set to introduce themselves, create visual representations of assignments, or to use as a brain break when it's all a little overwhelming.
I am anxious about the challenges we will face, but look forward to facing them and teaching my students THAT ALL CHALLENGES CAN BE OVERCOME.
