My students will no longer have to go outside, wasting class time, transporting power tools and setting them up. Using a dust collection system, they can eliminate the dust created from working with tools including miter saws, band saws, belt sanders, and drill presses. Students often lose valuable class time setting up thier shop outside, weather permitting, and then tearing it down during the period. If we can stay in the classroom, I do not have to risk leaving the one group to design inorder to monitor the other group using power tools. We can do all of our planning, constructing, and testing in the classroom.
