These supplies will allow my students to maintain their instruments throughout the year. The valve oil, cork grease, and slide grease are very necessary to keep the instruments in working order, much like you need to get oil changes for your car, these instruments need to be maintained. My school provides the students with over 200 school owned instruments that will not be replaced and must be kept in working order for up to 20 years! To get these instruments to last, each student will be given the supplies they need to care for the instrument on their own. The cleaning snakes and brushes also will keep our instruments free of dirt and gunk build up which can happen over time, foster bacteria, or keep the instrument from playing properly.
This project aims to teach my students responsibility, build respect for property, and allow the instruments to be used to be used for many, many years to come. Help my students have the ability to care for their instuments!
