Visual Arts help my students express themselves in a different way than we usually do in classroom. Not only will the students dive into making a work of art, but they will also have constructive conversations to help them discuss not only what they did, but why they did it as well. These conversations are vital to help students clarify any thoughts or feelings that they are having.
By having canvases in the classroom the students and I will be able to explore painting, and color mixing as well as extend their vocabulary and conversation skills after we do gallery walks with our masterpieces. Having tools such as paint, and colored pencils allows the students to really think about what they are creating and how they want it to look.
