Calendar time helps students develop math skills and language skills. I picture using the calendar to develop their counting, 1 to 1 correspondence, and place values. We will be keeping count of the days we've been in school. The students will also have daily practice in writing and drawing. Pencil grips will be extremely helpful in developing their fine motor skills and proper grip for writing. The pocket charts will allow students to practice their phonics with visuals and sentence frames. Finally, students will experience equity in voice with the help of equity sticks.
