My students will benefit from having a wide array of titles to read for their pleasure. They will have access to these books everyday, and won't need to wait until their library visit to exchange or start new books. My current library does not have as many 6th grade favorites, and did not serve as the valued resource that it could have been. This year, I hope to provide more engaging novel options from a variety of genres, that are grade level appropriate.
Research has proven that students who read 60 minutes a day benefit exponentially. Students are provided in the classroom with opportunities to read and are expected to read at home. By having engaging titles available, students will be more excited to invest in their reading.
